Marrakech Hitlist

For Sydney based creative Dan Codyre, and partner Vincent Vianez, Marrakech holds a unique magic. Vinnie grew up in Paris, and spent childhood summers with his Moroccan extended family, whilst Dan fell for the Ochre City on solo travels there. From the souks and local artisans, to the vibrant food scene, on a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, Dan and Vinnie love that Marrakech is a city with so much on offer. They’re excited to be back later this summer to celebrate their wedding with their friends and family and are sharing their top tips for their favourite city.

Stay

Riad Mena

Riad Mena is a serene and spacious 700sq m Riad situated in the heart of the Medina, just seven minutes walk through picturesque alleyways to Marrakech´s main-square, the Jemaa el Fna. Initially conceived as a private home, the personal touches throughout have created a wonderfully unique hotel experience in Marrakech. With seven spacious bedroom suites, contemporary bathrooms by Philip Starck, an 8m pool and multiple plant filled courtyards, Riad Mena makes for a private and very memorable stay.

And beyond…

Just thirty minutes away towards the Agafay desert is Berber Lodge, a countryside haven. Opened in 2017 by Romain Michel Meniere – friend of the house and the interior designer behind Riad Mena – its ten adobe style lodges nestled amongst centenary olive trees make for the perfect countryside escape.
